INTRODUCTION

  The School of Allied Health Sciences, founded in 1993 as a consisting part of the Faculty of Medicine, engages in education and research in the allied health sciences. The School offers programs of scientific and professional education and training leading to the degree of Baccalaureate in Nursing, in Radiological Technology and Biomedical Engineering, and in Laboratory Sciences.

The objectives of the Baccalaureate Program are 1) to provide the students with scientific basis in the health sciences for research and application, 2) to lay the foundation for their respective careers as professionals in the public health services, 3) to cultivate understanding of interprofessional teamwork for total patient care, 4) to foster high principle of ethical standards, of basic human needs and respect for the dignity of man.

The School strives to produce highly trained health care professionals, qualified to assume leading roles in their respective fields and, furthermore, proficiency in the areas of academic and clinical instruction, supervision and administration.

Learning is our mission and for this, the School is comprised of outstanding academic staff with modern facilities. The faculties have responsibility for producing the first-rate researchers as well in conjunction with medical and health care sciences. They are expected to play an important role in the international cooperation in medical care of the developing countries.

The School of Allied Health Sciences is a new school which look forward to further strengthening its position as unique institution in medical and health care science in Japan.
