About our laboratory

Japan is known for the world’s highest longevity of people, and it is predicted that the proportion of older people will increase dramatically in the future. Therefore, it is ideal for extending healthy life expectancy and realizing a world where independent older people need long-term care support. To build such a society, it is necessary to clarify the factors of health and longevity. In our laboratory, we conduct epidemiological surveys of residents to implement the prevention and treatment of lifestyle-related diseases, research that leads to the establishment of care prevention, and the evidence necessary for home medical care based on health promotion sciences. We believe that it is indispensable to increase the number of healthy and longevity older people by researching to establish the above and are developing research in line with these themes.
