It has been about three months since I arrived in the U.S. on April 10.
While Japan is likely in the midst of the rainy season, here in California we are enjoying sunny skies almost every day, with low humidity and very comfortable weather.
This Hui Lab Newsletter was launched as a casual way for the three of us studying abroad at City of Hope to share snippets of our life here.
We hope this newsletter gives some insight into how we’re doing
—not only for those who are interested in joining the Takahashi Lab in the future, but also for current lab members and everyone connected to the lab.

6/25はCity of Hopeの日本人コミュニティの紹介で毎週開催されているというテニスに参加しました！
4/10にアメリカに着いてから約三か月がたちました。
日本はすでに梅雨の時期かと思いますが、こちらカルフォルニアでは毎日晴天で、湿度も低くとても過ごしやすい気候が続いています。
このHui Lab Newsletterは、City of Hopeに留学した３人のちょっとした一コマを報告したいと思い、立ち上げられた企画です。
高橋研に興味を持っている方はもちろん、高橋研のメンバーや関係者の皆様にも私たちの様子が少しでも伝わるとうれしいです。

6/25はCity of Hopeの日本人コミュニティの紹介で毎週開催されているというテニスに参加しました！
はじめての硬式テニスでしたが、優しくご指導していただき楽しい時間を過ごせました。
また、6/30には研究室で歓迎会が開かれました。
Hui先生やポスドクの皆さんと交流を深めることができ、大変有意義な時間となりました。これから３年間よろしくお願いします！

On June 25, we joined a weekly tennis session introduced by the Japanese community at City of Hope!
It was my first time playing hard-court tennis, but everyone was kind and welcoming, and I had a lot of fun learning and playing together.
Also, on June 30, our lab held a welcome party for us.It was a wonderful opportunity to deepen connections with Dr. Hui and the postdocs.
I’m very grateful for the warm welcome, and I look forward to working together for the next three years!
