Hui Lab Newsletter – ASTRO

Fisherman’s wharf

Both our Japanese colleagues and our group participated in the ASTRO annual meeting held in San Francisco.

It takes about an hour and a half by plane from Los Angeles, where we live. The city is famous for landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island.

At Fisherman’s Wharf, which is known for its clam chowder served in a bread bowl, we had the chance to enjoy this local specialty during a break from the conference.

Near the entrance of the ASTRO venue, there was a poll open to on-site participants. Let me share the question with you—please take a moment to think about it as well:

“What innovation will most transform radiation oncology in the next 10 years?”

2. Radiopharmaceuticals and theranostics

3. More precise and personalized radiation delivery

4. Improved imaging and treatment planning

6. Equitable access through virtual care and outreach

7. Treatment of nonmalignant disease
