Ultrasonography (US) is relatively simple and noninvasive, making it easy to perform in many patients . US can also be safely performed in pregnant women and older individuals owing to its high safety profile. Recently, technological advances have made it possible to quantify organ stiffness and fat content, enabling accurate evaluation of pathological developments (multiparametric US). In addition, the miniaturization of equipment has made it possible to use portable US devices, particularly during home visits. Our laboratory aims to develop a noninvasive test (NIT) for gastrointestinal disease diagnosis using US. We aim to develop an improved NIT by linking gastrointestinal disease pathophysiology with the US diagnosis.
