Visit from SHINGU University, the Republic of Korea

On Tuesday, January 21, a group of 47 visitors from SHINGU University in the Republic of Korea paid a visit to Osaka University.
Led by Professor Ishida, the contact person, an active exchange of ideas took place regarding research and education in the Course of Medical Physics and Engineering, within the Faculty of Health Sciences. This visit fostered proactive international exchange. During the visit, students from both institutions engaged in lively interactions. They shared academic insights, cultural experiences, and future aspirations, fostering mutual understanding and building stronger ties between the universities.

UCL-OU Joint Symposium

A cross-disciplinary symposium on ageing and dementia between University College London (UCL) and Osaka University (OU) was jointly organised at UCL on 11 and 12 November 2024. From the Division of Health Sciences, Prof. Kabayama, Director of the Center for International Exchange, and Prof. Kamide, Deputy Directors of the Center and Associate Prof. Yamakawa participated in the symposium and had a lively discussion.

Scoping Review Seminar : Understanding the Concept in Evidence Based Health Care

Dr Patraporn Bhatarasakoon, Professor at Chiang Mai University and Director of the JBI Excellence Center, Thailand, was invited by Dr. Yamakawa, Director of The Japan Centre for Evidence Based Practice, to give a basic seminar on understanding concepts in Evidence Based Health Care, entitled ‘Scoping Review Seminar’ and held in a hybrid format .
In the recent literature reviews, including scoping reviews, we often see incorrect methods being used, and this was an opportunity for the methodology to be explained in an easy-to-understand manner.
More than one hundred and thirty teachers and graduate students from inside and outside the country participated in this three-hour long, productive, large-scale seminar.
